Bob Lyons gave 46 years of his life building a legacy as an agriculture educator in Jay County. He started his career at Portland in 1960 after graduating from Purdue University. Bob retired from Jay School Corporation in 2006. The impact that Bob made over many students, staff, and community members is still felt throughout Jay County. The agriculture program at Jay County High School is truly what it is today because of him.
Through four decades of dedication to shaping young adults of Jay County, all while farming a full operation, raising four children, and being involved in his community, Bob is deserving of the Patriot Service Award. Bob Lyons’ countless contributions and personal devotion to public education brings great credit to himself, our community, and the Jay School Corporation.
