Larry Paxson began his career as a teacher at the Madison Township School in Jay County in 1958. Over his 42 years of active employment in the Jay School Corporation, Larry served as Teacher, Principal, Director of Elementary Education, Transportation Director, Business Manager and Assistant Superintendent. Mr. Paxson served on the Jay School Board of Trustees from 2007 to 2014. Mr. Paxson officially retired from the Jay School Corporation in 2005.
Larry Paxson’s long service to Jay Schools has impacted more than one generation of Jay County youth and inspired the creation of the “Patriot Service Award”. He is the very example of what educational leadership looks like. Larry Paxson’s countless contributions and personal devotion to public education brings great credit to himself, our community, and the Jay School Corporation.
