East Jay Elementary is excited to share a new opportunity for our students!
Nurse Lori (DeRome) recently introduced the AHA CPR Anytime program, starting with our 6th grade classes, with plans to expand to more students next year. During these sessions, students are learning important, potentially life-saving skills, including how to respond in an emergency, when to call 9-1-1, and what information a dispatcher may need.
They are also being taught Hands-Only CPR, along with a demonstration of what an AED is and how it can be used in an emergency situation.
These lessons are taking place during Mr. Alberson’s PE classes, giving students hands-on experience and confidence to help others when it matters most.
We are proud of our students for taking part in this important learning experience—skills that could truly make a difference in someone’s life!
