Dear WJE Families,
With the potential for storms today during our dismissal time, we may find it necessary to delay the dismissal of our students who walk home after school due to safety concerns. If we do delay the dismissal time for our students that walk home, we will send out an announcement using the same format that we using to send out this message to you. If you find that you can make other arrangements to have your child picked up today, please call (765-768-7648) and let the office know. We will pass that message along to your student. Thanks! Mr. D

Dear WJE Families,
This is just a reminder that spring Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held from 3-6 PM on Monday, March 14th. As you are all aware our format for Parent-Teacher Conferences has changed. Due to increased daily communication options between teachers and families, a formal conference is no longer required. On March 14th, all conference times will be open (first come, first served) unless parents specifically request a conference time with the teacher OR the teacher requests to schedule a meeting with the parent. We look forward to seeing you on March 14th at West Jay Elementary!

The National Weather Service has advised that Jay County is under a Winter Storm Warning from 1:00 PM Wednesday to 1:00 AM Friday with a possible 12 - 16 inches of snow. Jay Schools will be on an eLearning day, Wednesday, February 2, 2022.
Given the second wave of snow and wind forecasted, we may well be in the same situation on Thursday. Given the confidence of the weather service in this forecast, our early announcement is intended to give everyone time to prepare.
We will review the situation as it develops and update everyone on our social media, parent emails and text messages and our local radio WPGW.
