Dear Bloomfield Elementary Parents,
We have reached that time of the year when school delays and cancellations are unfortunately a part of our reality. For families we know that this does bring added planning and preparation on your part. To help with this planning and preparation I am writing this letter to you to provide you with information about how we will conduct Remote Learning here in the Jay School Corporation and Bloomfield Elementary.
Now that we have used our last elearning day, the next canceled school day will be a built in snow day, which is February 20th, 2023. Any more days of school that we miss after that will be Remote Learning Days. During Remote Learning, teachers will be providing direct instruction “live” in their google classroom. Your child will need to access their Google Classroom for instructions, lessons, and to make connections with their teacher. Students can also email their classroom teacher if they have questions or need further assistance. We understand that it may be difficult for your child to join the live instruction each day. Please know that your child will have five (5) school days if they are in grades K-2 and two (2) school days if they are in grades 3-6 to complete their assignments. Teachers will be recording their teaching sessions and posting the work your child is expected to complete on their Google Classroom. At the K-2 grade levels there will also be items in your child’s backpack that will support the online activities. We have practiced this before, and students and teachers know the plan.
Students with IEP’s and 504 Plans: During remote learning students with IEP’s and 504 Plans will still receive services and support. Members of the special education staff will reach out to your child via email to make sure they know when and how their services will be made available to them.
For remote learning, our first priority is to make sure that each student continues to make meaningful progress in their educational journey. Communication between the home and school will be critical during this time as we work together towards our common goal of providing a high quality educational experience for each student. Finally, please know that the staff and administration of Bloomfield Elementary will be available to provide assistance if it is needed.
Please take advantage of this opportunity to order your child's yearbook.
These memories will be cherished for years to come.
Please don't miss the ordering date of February 8th to secure their yearbook.
