Building Bridges is a free, inclusive Halloween event for people of all ages with disabilities and special needs, along with their families and caregivers. The goal is to provide a fun, welcoming environment where everyone can enjoy an evening of fellowship with local police officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, nurses, and other members of our community.
The event will be held Monday, October 26, from 5:00–7:00 PM at East Jay Elementary School in Portland. Guests are invited to come in costume and enjoy dinner, bingo, carnival games, music, dancing, raffle prizes, and plenty of Halloween fun.
Jay County's annual free Elementary Wrestling Camp will be held October 26th through October 29th in the Auxiliary Gym. This camp is a great opportunity for young students to learn fundamental skills, stay active, and build confidence in a fun environment.

In December of 2025, NuWave Technology held a charity selfie challenge with their employees. Corey McIntire, a former Bloomfield Bomber, won this challenge and chose to help pay student lunch balances for Bloomfield students!
His positivity inspired others to join his mission. His donation was matched by the Gratis Eagles, of Gratis, Ohio. This resulted in $1,000 from NuWave Technology and $1,000 from the Gratis Eagles.
Thank you Corey, NuWave Technology and Gratis Eagles for not only helping out Bloomfield students and families, but inspiring others to do good.
