It is time to register for the 2021-2022 school year. To complete online registration, please click the link below. There you will begin registration, request your username/password (if needed), or request help. If you would like to register your child in person, registration will be available in each building at the following times:
Monday, August 2nd from 8:30 am -11:00 am and 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Wednesday, August 4th from 11:00 am - 7:00 pm

If you have multiple children in different schools, you can register all of your children online or at any of our school sites. Welcome letters are being sent to parents from each school.

Jay School Corporation's Central Office has now moved to 414 Floral Ave, Portland, in the former General Shanks Elementary School.
Dear Parents/Guardians,
As we place students in classes, remember we do our best to consider parent requests. However, student assignment is based on class size and academic need considerations for all children in the school. Our capacity to balance classes and properly align resources is significantly impacted by teacher requests. Please visit the link at the bottom of this letter to complete a request form. (We have sent an electronic message in Skyward, with the link, as well.) One form will need to be completed for each student.
The purpose of this form is to help us better manage teacher requests. If you feel that you would like to request a teacher for your son/daughter, for the 2021-2022 school year, this form must be completed by May 21, 2021. No teacher requests will be accepted via email, written letters, or phone calls. All requests must be completed, in this form. If you have already submitted a written request, you will need to complete this form. If internet access is unavailable to you, please come to the school, and a computer will be provided for you to complete this form. Teacher requests for the 21-22 school year will not be accepted or changed, after May 21, 2021.
Please note that by completing the form, we are not guaranteeing that your child will have their requested teacher. Failure to select three different choices, will make your request form invalid.
6th Grade students will have a departmentalized schedule, where students will have all teachers.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
BRIDGE CLOSURE - Impacts to East Jay and East Elementary Traffic
Starting April 5th, Arch Bridge US 27/Meridian St. will be closed.
* Temporary access for EJE parents during arrival and dismissal will be at Meridian/Water to Meridian/River Road.
* Parents will be provided with an entry pass that will need to be displayed, in the vehicle’s front dashboard.
* There will be officers approving access to parents at arrival and dismissal. If this sign is not visible, you will be re-routed.
* We will be giving the access codes/sign to parents this week using the arrival and dismissal lines. If you need a code/sign and do not receive one this week, please contact the front office. One will be sent home with your child.
* The barricade at Meridian/Water will be lifted to enter East Jay, starting at 7:15 AM.
* Students are not to be dropped off, on the west side of the building.
* If entering East Jay from Water St. please drive slowly and carefully. This is a staff parking lot with many pedestrians.
* Parents should not drop students on the west side of the building.
* Please utilize the signage and merge into the traffic entering from Meridian onto River Rd.
* The barricade will be closed again, until 2:00 PM.
This closure could cause delays during arrival and dismissal times at East Elementary.
Detailed information is being sent home tomorrow in a flyer and you should have received an email, if information is current in Skyward.
Pre-enrollment for prospective 2021-2022 Jay School Corporation kindergarten students will initially start with an on-line registration form. The link below will be available on the Jay School Website along with the elementary school website.
During the month of May, your home district will be contacting you to set up a date and time for a Kindergarten Assessment. When you attend this session, you will need to bring a copy of your child’s certified birth certificate (from the health office) and social security number.
It is highly recommended that your child receive physical, dental, and vision exams before entering school in the fall. Forms will be available at the pre-kindergarten enrollment session. Evidence of immunizations for childhood diseases will be required before your child becomes a student in the fall. No need to bring your child’s immunization record unless vaccines were given outside of Indiana.
