Latchkey Information *For those that use the Latchkey services at REDKEY ELEMENTARY, you will need to use the following phone number to contact personnel when you drop off your students and when you are picking them up. 260-703-0827 This is to ensure the safety of all of our students in this program. Please add this to your phone for ease of access in communicating with the Latchkey staff. Student Drop Off Students should not be dropped off or arrive earlier than 7:35 AM here at West Jay Elementary. Welcome Jack! Today was Jack's first day on the job. Jack graduated from "Dog School" last week in Georgia and is now officially our newest staff member. The kids liked seeing Jack in the schools today. Jack is assigned to our SRO and, in addition to being very friendly, can detect firearms and track missing persons.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FROM THE JAY SCHOOL TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT: May 12, 2022 Dear West Jay Elementary Parents, The Jay Schools Technology department has requested that all student Chromebooks be kept at their respective school this summer. SUMMER SCHOOL STUDENTS: Summer school student Chromebooks will also be kept at school and students will have access to them while at summer school. PURPOSE: By keeping the Chromebooks this summer, the JSC Technology Department will be able to work on the devices and prepare them for the next school year. Any educational websites that the students access should be accessible on your home devices when you log in to those sites with the student's username and password. FIELD DAY IS TOMORROW!! Here is some important WJE information: * Please pack a complete extra change of clothing, including shoes. There are some water games that could soak them. (Please note that students do not have to get wet if they do not want to.) * Please also pack a towel and a full water bottle. * We will be outside from 9:15-2, so applying suncreen before school might be a good idea. * If you have signed up to help, please meet in the office at 9:00. Dear WJE Families, With the potential for storms today during our dismissal time, we may find it necessary to delay the dismissal of our students who walk home after school due to safety concerns. If we do delay the dismissal time for our students that walk home, we will send out an announcement using the same format that we using to send out this message to you. If you find that you can make other arrangements to have your child picked up today, please call (765-768-7648) and let the office know. We will pass that message along to your student. Thanks! Dear WJE Families, This is just a reminder that spring Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held from 3-6 PM on Monday, March 14th. As you are all aware our format for Parent-Teacher Conferences has changed. Due to increased daily communication options between teachers and families, a formal conference is no longer required. On March 14th, all conference times will be open (first come, first served) unless parents specifically request a conference time with the teacher OR the teacher requests to schedule a meeting with the parent.
